A new post has been long overdue…and here it finally is. Isabelle is wonderful and doing so well. She has been with us for just over eight months now. We took Isabelle to the park for a picnic and it turned out to be quite the photo shoot. One year ago today, the first of many miracles took place. Our precious baby girl was born and a set of events was put in motion. Now each day with Isabelle is a new miracle. She has brought so much joy to our lives. It is such a privilege to share our lives with such a sweet little girl.

Three Months a Family of Three
Three months ago todaywe finallysaw for the first time the precious little girl we had been so anxious to meet. We are so happy to be sharing our lives with our daughter. We love you Isabelle!

Our baby girl is 11 months (and 4 days) old now and is really starting to show off her walking.
Two Months (and a few days…)
October 17 marked two months that Isabelle has been with us! Time flies but then in some ways I cannot remember Isabelle not being here. She has really grown so much over the past two months. Here is a list of some of the things Isabelle has learned in the past two months:
- Climbs stairs
- Stands alone
- Takes several steps on her own
- Says MaMa, DaDa, Ey, Yeah yeah yeah (and a lot of things we haven’t figured out yet - she’s quite the talker
- Waves, high five, signals touchdown, shakes head no, pretends she’s sleeping, scrunches nose at people
- Knows what uh uh (no) means
- Loves Kai Lan & Wiggles (especially Wags the Dog)
- Dances to music
- Plays peek-a-boo (and has actually started to be the one that plays peek-a-boo with us rather than the other way around
- Asks for diaper change (yes, she has come over to me while I was sitting on the floor, laid down and put her legs up like she does for a diaper change!)
- Has her 7th and 8th teeth coming through
- Finally is starting to give kisses (sometimes)
- and….brightens every day and always makes me smile!

Happy Ten Months Old Isabelle!
We have a lot to catch up on and hopefully will be able to very soon. Isabelle has grown so much (developmentally even more than physically) over the past month and a half. It seems everyday she does something new and she always brings us so much joy.

One Month Today
Today is our one month anniversary of Isabelle Day! To say our lives have changed seems like such an understatement. I cannot imagine life without Isabelle around. Isabelle has grown so much, physically and otherwise in the past month. It is amazing to see each day the new things she learns and does. She is really starting to ‘explore’ everything around the house. Isabelle keeps us on our toes!

Photoshoot with Mom
Today while entertaining Isabelle (Sue’s new fulltime job), Sue decided to have a little photoshoot. Last year when Sue visited her parents in Australia, they sent her home with some of Sue’s baby clothes from - well a few years ago. Sue tried several of the well-kept out fits on Isabelle for the photos.
To us Isabelle seems to have grown so much! It was one month ago today that we began our trip to Taiwan. With all the fond memories of Taiwan it seems hard to believe it has been that long since we have been there. On the other hand, so much has happened in the past month that it seems as if Isabelle has been with us much longer.

Where’s the Water?
Today we decided to take a trip to Cedar Falls in Logan. We made the less than an hour drive, then strapped Isabelle in the Ergo and made the hike to the Falls.

The only problem is, after the hike to the falls - there was no water!

The trip was good anyway. After the trip we stopped at some shops and then let Isabelle have some time in the saddle.

Finally, we stopped for dinner and of course had to find a place with mashed potatoes - Isabelle’s favorite!

Dawes Photoshoot
Another week is coming to a close. I’m saddened to think that I only have three more days at home before going back to work - I will really miss spending everyday with my girls. On one hand it is difficult to think of life before Isabelle while on the other it’s difficult to believe she has been with us nearly three weeks! Isabelle continues to settle in and has started to make herself quite at home. She is doing very well with sleeping through the nights, however nap time is sometimes a different story. Isabelle is VERY attached to us, and that is quite often a literal statement! We did have a major breakthrough tonight in that for the first time Isabelle sat in her high chair at a restaurant while Sue and I had dinner. She was very good, and more patient than we were as service was rather slow tonight.
Today marked nine years of marriage for Sue and I. On our way out to dinner tonight, we made a stop first at Dawes Arboretum to meet our friend Sally for a photo shoot. A few of the photos have been added to the Photos at Home page.

Nine Months Old
Yesterday we celebrated Isabelle’s Nine Month Birthday! It was a busy day for all of us. First, Isabelle had her first bowl of rice cereal for breakfast…

After a bit of a clean-up, we stopped at the local ice cream shop and Isabelle tried ice cream for the first time. It’s unfortunate we did not have the camera for that one as she loved it but made some unusual faces as it was so cold! We then went shopping and after coming home Isabelle helped with the groceries.
